T. Ruth Westfern is an oil painter, macro photographer, and outdoor enthusiast based in Oregon. She is passionate about the connection between vast landscapes and the tiny flora and fauna residing there.

Westfern created art throughout childhood, but just sort of stopped in adulthood. One day, she was gifted a macro photography lens and promptly wandered about taking pictures. It brought so much joy to see the world from a new perspective! Today, she brings a collection of lenses on her walks to capture tidbits of wild spaces. Once home, she attempts to recreate on canvas the feelings of wonder, joy, peace and appreciation from being in nature.

An emerging artist who started oil painting in her late thirties, Westfern draws inspiration from her time in nature and in remembering that she wanted to be an artist when she grew up. Her artwork has been exhibited at the Oregon Society of Artists.
